Drug Warnings: Before taking Evatic-0.5, inform your doctor if you have high blood pressure, heart problems, thyroid issues, glaucoma or prostate conditions, liver disease, breathing disorders such as COPD or sleep apnea, myasthenia gravis, depression or a history of substance use disorder. Avoid taking this medicine with other sedating medications unless advised, as it may increase drowsiness and impair alertness and coordination. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how it affects you, and use during pregnancy or breastfeeding only if your doctor decides the benefits outweigh the risks.
Drug–Drug Interactions: Evatic-0.5 & 0.25 may interact with certain medications, including opioids, other benzodiazepines or sleep medicines, antipsychotics, sedating antihistamines, and alcohol, which can dangerously increase sedation and breathing suppression. Strong CYP3A4 inhibitors such as ketoconazole, itraconazole, clarithromycin, erythromycin, protease inhibitors and fluvoxamine can raise etizolam levels; CYP3A4 inducers like rifampicin may reduce its effect. Always tell your doctor about all prescription, over-the-counter drugs and supplements you are taking.
Drug–Food Interactions: The medicine can be taken with or without food. Limit alcohol while on Evatic-0.5, as it may increase sleepiness or dizziness. Grapefruit or grapefruit juice may increase drug levels and should be avoided unless your doctor says otherwise.
