ZEDOBIT

CEFPODOXIME PROXETIL 200MG & POTTASIUM CLAVULANATE 125MG TABLET

Zedobit (Cefpodoxime & Potassium Clavulanate Tablets) contains Cefpodoxime and Potassium Clavulanate, a combination of a cephalosporin antibiotic and a beta-lactamase inhibitor. Cefpodoxime works by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls, which prevents the bacteria from multiplying and helps eliminate the infection. Potassium Clavulanate protects Cefpodoxime from being broken down by bacterial enzymes called beta-lactamases, making the medicine effective against a broader spectrum of bacteria. Together, this combination helps treat infections such as respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin infections, and ENT infections, reducing symptoms like fever, pain, swelling, and discomfort.

Zedobit (Cefpodoxime & Potassium Clavulanate Tablets) is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms. This includes infections of the respiratory tract like bronchitis or pneumonia, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and infections of the ears, nose, and throat (ENT). The medicine is prescribed when a broader antibacterial coverage is needed or when infections are caused by bacteria producing beta-lactamase enzymes. By controlling bacterial growth, Zedobit helps reduce symptoms such as fever, pain, redness, and swelling, allowing patients to recover faster and prevent complications.

The dosage of Zedobit (Cefpodoxime & Potassium Clavulanate Tablets) depends on the patient’s age, weight, infection severity, and medical condition. Adults typically take one tablet twice daily, or as directed by their doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water, preferably after meals, and do not crush or chew the tablet. Children’s doses are carefully calculated based on body weight and infection type.

Storage: Store Zedobit in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

Common Side Effects: Patients may experience mild diarrhea, nausea, stomach upset, or headache. If these persist, worsen, or if you notice severe allergic reactions such as rash, swelling, or difficulty breathing, consult your doctor immediately.

Drug Warnings: Do not use Zedobit if you are allergic to Cefpodoxime, Clavulanate, or other cephalosporin antibiotics. Inform your doctor if you have kidney disease, liver problems, gastrointestinal disorders, or a history of colitis. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before use. Complete the full course even if symptoms improve early, to prevent recurrence or resistance.

Drug–Food Interactions: The tablet can be taken with or without food. Avoid excessive alcohol, as it may worsen gastrointestinal side effects.

Drug–Disease Interactions: Patients with kidney or liver impairment, gastrointestinal disorders, or a history of antibiotic-associated diarrhea should use Zedobit cautiously. Your doctor may adjust the dose or monitor you closely to ensure safe and effective treatment.
