VORTIOXETINE 20MG TABLET |
Vortioxetine, which is included in VORTIOXETINE 20MG TABLET, is an antidepressant medication. It is used to treat adult depression (major depressive episodes). Depression is a mental condition characterised by chronic sorrow, loss of interest, feelings of guilt or worthlessness, impaired concentration, fatigue, suicidal thoughts, and sluggish or irregular bodily movements.
Before taking VORTIOXETINE 20MG TABLET inform your doctor if you have any liver or kidney problems. You must also inform your doctor if you currently have or have a previous history of fits (epilepsy), glaucoma, suicidal thoughts, mania or bleeding problems as a precaution.
VORTIOXETINE 20MG TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant or breastfeeding women unless considered necessary by the physician. It is also not suitable for use in children aged below 18 years.
The most common side effects of taking VORTIOXETINE 20MG TABLET are nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation, dizziness, itching of the whole body, abnormal dreams (nightmares) and increased sweating. These side effects are usually temporary and will resolve on its own within 2 weeks of therapy. However, consult your doctor if they worsen.
f you accidentally took more Vortioxetine 20MG TABLET than the prescribed dose, contact your doctor or go to the nearest hospital immediately. Symptoms of overdosage might include nausea, dizziness, diarrhoea, stomach discomfort, flushing, feeling sleepy or drowsy and itching of the whole body.

A. Drug-drug interactions:
Before taking BRINTELLIX 20MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines such as:
1. medicines used to treat pain (such as tramadol, fentanyl, nefopam, morphine or morphine related substances like codeine, dihydrocodeine, buprenorphine)
2. medicines used to treat migraine headache (Ex. sumatriptan)
3. other medicines used to treat depression (Ex. phenelzine, iproniazid, isocarboxazid, nialamide, tranylcypromine, moclobemide, fluoxetine, paroxetine, amitriptyline, imipramine etc.)
4. medicines used to treat parkinsonism (Ex. selegiline, rasagiline)
5. linezolid (an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections)
6. lithium (a medicine used to treat depression and mental disorders)
7. tryptophan (an amino acid used to induce sleep)
8. rifampicin (a medicine used to treat tuberculosis)
9. medicines used to treat epilepsy (Ex. carbamazepine, phenytoin)
10. medicines used to prevent blood clots (Ex. warfarin, dipyridamole, phenprocoumon, aspirin)
