ARIPIPRAZOLE 15MG TABLET

ARIPIPRAZOLE 15MG TABLET includes Aripiprazole, a medication of the Anti-psychotic drug class. It is used to treat schizophrenia, particularly in adolescent patients (aged 13 to 17 years). Schizophrenia is a mental illness that impairs a person's capacity to think, feel, and conduct normally. It is distinguished by odd thoughts or behaviour as well as seeing or hearing things that are not present.

ARIPIPRAZOLE 15MG TABLET can also be used as a monotherapy or as an adjuvant to treat mania (excessive happiness or hyperactivity) in children (aged 15 years and older). It can also be used to treat Tourette's syndrome (tic disorder) and irritability associated with Autistic Disorder in children aged 6 to 18 years. ARIPIPRAZOLE 15MG TABLET is an adjunctive medicine used to treat depression (major depressive disorder) in adults.

ARIPIPRAZOLE 15MG TABLET should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not miss any doses or discontinue ARIPIPRAZOLE 15MG TABLET without first seeing your doctor. Avoid heavy exertion and exposure to hot weather while using ARIPIPRAZOLE 15MG TABLET. Avoid dehydration by drinking plenty of water.



Take ARIPIPRAZOLE 15MG TABLET as advised by your physician. It can be taken with or without meals.

For Tablets: Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.

For Mouth Dissolving Tablets: Place the medicine beneath the tongue and close your mouth until it dissolves completely.

Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and mental state.

Do not stop taking ARIPIPRAZOLE 15MG TABLET without consulting your doctor, even if you feel better after few days of therapy.

A. Drug-Drug interactions:

Before taking ARIPIPRAZOLE 15MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines such as:

1. medicines used to treat abnormal heart rhythm (Ex. quinidine, amiodarone, flecainide)

2. medicines used to treat depression (Ex. fluoxetine, paroxetine, venlafaxine, St. John's Wort, amitriptyline, clomipramine)

3. tryptophan (an amino acid used to maintain brain health)

4. medicines used to treat fungal infections (Ex. ketoconazole, itraconazole)

5. medicines used to treat HIV infection (Ex. efavirenz, nevirapine, indinavir, ritonavir)

6. medicines used to treat epilepsy (Ex. carbamazepine, phenytoin)

7. medicines used to treat tuberculosis (Ex. rifabutin, rifampicin)

8. medicines used to treat high blood pressure (Ex. captopril, enalapril, atenolol, propranolol, etc.)

9. medicines used to reduce anxiety and to induce sleep (Ex. alprazolam, midazolam, lorazepam)

10. medicines used for pain relief (Ex. tramadol and pethidine)

11. medicines used to treat migraine headache (Ex. sumatriptan and zolmitriptan)
