LURASIDONE 40MG TABLET works by blocking dopamine, serotonin, and noradrenaline receptors (neurotransmitters involved in schizophrenia), resulting in decreased brain activity in relation to these receptors and thus improving symptoms of schizophrenia and depression in affected individuals.
Before taking LURASID 40MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines:
1. nafcillin, rifampin, clarithromycin, erythromycin (used to treat bacterial infections)
2. fluconazole, ketoconazole, voriconazole (used to treat fungal infections)
3. etravirine, efavirenz, ritonavir, atazanavir (used to treat viral infections)
4. diltiazem, mibefradil, verapamil (used to treat high blood pressure)
5. avasimibe (used to treat peripheral vascular disease)
6. st. john's wort (herbal remedy) (used to treat depression)
7. phenytoin, carbamazepine (used to control seizures)
8. bosentan (used to treat pulmonary hypertension)
9. modafinil (used to treat sleepiness caused by narcolepsy)
