Qvatic 25mg, 50mg and 100mg

Quetiapine Fumarate

Qvatic 25mg, 50mg and 100mg (Quetiapine Fumarate) contains the antipsychotic salt quetiapine fumarate. Quetiapine helps rebalance dopamine and serotonin activity in brain pathways that control mood, perception and sleep. This improves hallucinations, delusions and agitation in schizophrenia, stabilizes manic symptoms, and can relieve depressive symptoms in bipolar disorder. The immediate-release tablets act for a shorter duration and are usually given in divided doses through the day.

Qvatic (quetiapine fumarate) is used under medical supervision for schizophrenia and bipolar disorder (mania, mixed episodes and bipolar depression). Based on a physician’s judgment and local guidance, it may also be used as adjunctive therapy in major depressive disorder.

Dosing is individualized and slowly increased. Treatment typically starts low and is titrated over several days to a target chosen by the prescriber, often within a range of 300–800 mg per day in divided doses depending on the condition and response. Elderly patients and those with liver impairment usually require lower starting doses and slower increases. Do not stop suddenly unless your doctor tells you to, as symptoms may return.

Storage: Store Qvatic in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture, and keep it out of the reach of children.

Common Side Effects: The most common effects are sleepiness, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, increased appetite and weight, light-headedness on standing and transient increases in blood sugar or lipids. Less common reactions include restlessness, tremor or other movement symptoms, rash or seizures. Seek urgent care if you develop very high fever with muscle stiffness and confusion.

Drug Warnings: Before taking Qvatic, inform your doctor if you have high blood pressure, heart problems, thyroid issues, glaucoma, or prostate conditions. Avoid taking this medicine with other sedating medications unless advised, as it may increase drowsiness.

Drug–Drug Interactions: Qvatic may interact with certain medications, such as other antihistamines, decongestants, MAO inhibitors, or blood pressure medicines. Always tell your doctor about all prescription, over-the-counter drugs, and supplements you are taking.

Drug–Food Interactions: The medicine can be taken with or without food. Limit alcohol consumption while on Qvatic, as it may increase sleepiness or dizziness.

Drug–Disease Interactions: Patients with kidney or liver problems should consult their doctor before using this medicine. Always share your full medical history to ensure safe and effective use of Qvatic.
