DOXYLINE PLUS

DOXYLAMINE SUCCIANTE 20MG, PYRIDOXINE HCL 20MG AND FOLIC ACID 5MG TABLET

DOXYLINE PLUS (Doxylamine Succinate 20mg, Pyridoxine HCl 20mg, and Folic Acid 5mg) is a combination medicine classified as an anti-emetic, primarily used to treat nausea and vomiting during pregnancy, commonly called morning sickness. Morning sickness typically begins around the 6th week of pregnancy and can last until the 16th to 18th week, though some women experience it throughout pregnancy. Persistent vomiting may lead to weight loss, dehydration, and electrolyte imbalance in severe cases.
The active ingredients in DOXYLINE PLUS work synergistically to provide relief and essential nutrients. Doxylamine Succinate, an antihistamine, blocks histamine, a natural chemical in the body that triggers nausea and vomiting. Pyridoxine HCl (Vitamin B6) helps correct low vitamin B6 levels, reducing nausea and vomiting associated with pregnancy. Folic Acid, a vital prenatal vitamin, supports the baby’s brain and spinal cord development and helps prevent neural tube defects. Together, these ingredients ensure that both the mother and baby receive necessary nutrients while alleviating discomfort caused by morning sickness.
Common side effects may include drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, and mild tiredness, which are generally temporary. Patients should inform their doctor if any of these persist or worsen. Always take DOXYLINE PLUS exactly as prescribed.

DOXYLINE PLUS (Doxylamine Succinate 20mg, Pyridoxine HCl 20mg, and Folic Acid 5mg) is mainly prescribed for pregnant women experiencing nausea and vomiting (morning sickness). It is also indicated for women at risk of dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, or weight loss due to persistent vomiting. The inclusion of Folic Acid supports the baby’s growth and development, particularly during the early stages of pregnancy.
The combination of Doxylamine, Pyridoxine, and Folic Acid helps relieve nausea by blocking histamine, replenishing vitamin B6, and providing essential prenatal nutrients. This medicine should only be used under medical supervision and is not recommended for other conditions unless advised by a doctor.

Patients should take DOXYLINE PLUS exactly as prescribed by their doctor. The usual starting dose is one tablet at bedtime. If symptoms persist, the doctor may recommend one tablet in the morning and one at bedtime, or in more severe cases, up to two or three tablets per day, spaced at different intervals.
The tablet should be swallowed whole with water, and it can be taken with or without food. For optimal absorption, it is suggested to take the medicine 1 to 2 hours before meals. Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight to maintain potency.

Common Side Effects: While generally mild and temporary, patients may experience drowsiness, dizziness, tiredness, dry mouth, and constipation. Inform your doctor if these symptoms persist or worsen.

Drug Warnings: DOXYLINE PLUS (Doxylamine Succinate, Pyridoxine HCl, Folic Acid) is intended for pregnancy-related nausea and vomiting. It should not be used for other purposes unless advised by a healthcare professional. Avoid using this medicine with MAO inhibitors (a type of antidepressant), and inform your doctor if you are taking cough or cold medications, sleeping pills, painkillers, or blood thinners. Do not stop the medicine suddenly, as symptoms may return.
